Share of teachers who feel their school prepared them for an active shooter U.S 2023
According to a survey conducted in 2023, 30 percent of all public K-12 teachers said that their school was doing an excellent or a very good job providing them with the training and resources they need to deal with a potential active shooter in their school in the United States. However, public K-12 teachers who were located in rural areas were most likely to share this belief, at 35 percent, followed by 32 percent of teachers located in suburban areas. In contrast, public K-12 teachers located in urban areas were least likely to agree that their school was doing an excellent or very good job providing them with the training and resources needed to deal with a potential active shooter at school, at 21 percent.
