The statistic presents information on the share of respondents who frequently or sometimes actively try to avoid news in selected countries worldwide as of February 2019. During the survey, 41 percent of respondents from the United States stated that they sometimes or often avoid the news, compared to 29 percent of Canadians who said the same. More than 50 percent of respondents in Croatia, Turkey and Greece reported actively avoiding the news, as well as 46 percent of Bulgarian adults.
