Apples and mikan were the most consumed fruits in Japan as revealed in a survey conducted in October 2022. More than 45 percent of respondents ate apples at least once a month, while almost 42 percent stated to eat mikan frequently. Mikan, also called satsuma, are a variant of mandarin oranges, which are popular for their sweetness and loose skin in Japan.
