Hyundai Elantra production forecast
Introduced in the 1990s, Hyundai’s Elantra model has transformed itself into one of the hottest car models on the market. It is similarly popular as the Ford F-Series, the Volkswagen Golf or the Toyota Camry, and was named ‘North American Car of the Year’ at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. According to the manufacturer’s website, the model also won ALG’s Residual Value Award and was named 2014 Highest Ranked Compact Car in Initial Quality in the U.S. by J.D. Power. In 2015, it is forecast that almost 790,000 Elantra units will be built, which would account for over 10 percent of Hyundai Group’s projected total vehicle production in 2014.
The 148-horsepower Elantra has a manufacturers’ suggested retail price (MSRP) starting at 15,399 U.S. dollars and received good EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 28 mpg in the city and 38 mpg on the highway.
