More than 65 percent of total freshwater withdrawals in South Africa come from the country's available renewable water resources. In contrast, Denmark's available resources accounted for some 5.7 percent of water abstractions in the country in 2022. That year, Iceland had the largest renewable water resources per capita worldwide.
